Georgia Lobbies against the Resurrection of the Wire Act

americanlawsimage.png

Georgia is the next state in America, to lobby against the resurrection of the Wire Act.  The resurrection of the Wire Act is still in the committee stage; however, that hasn’t stopped the states that have currently legalised any form of online gambling from being worried.

Georgia allowed their Lottery Corporation to start selling online lottery tickets in November 2012.  Since then they have had huge success with the venture generating $6.6 million in ticket sales last year, which allowed them to invest over $2 million school programs.

They believe that if they were no longer allowed to make internet sales they would have to shut down their state lottery, as it would no longer be able to afford to offer the same great prizes and the school programs that they have been helping each year would suffer.
