The British Gambling Commission has been looking into the social gaming industry, as it wanted to assess what potential risks it could have to the public.

The Commission spoke with other jurisdictions on the subject including; the Responsibility Gambling Strategy Board, Competition and Markets Authority, Ofcom, Committee of Advertising Practice, PhonepayPlus, Video Standards Council and Information Commissioner’s Office.  The outcome was that they decided to join forces to share their knowledge on the subject.

The British Gaming Commission has since released a report saying that it doesn’t currently believe that social gaming leads to harmful behaviour; however, they will carry on monitoring the issue closely.
