European Commission Wants Warnings on Gambling Advertisements

news_11.png

The European Commission has recommended that member states pass a law that requires internet gambling operators to display a warning on all their advertisements.  They want the warning to include the percentages of winning and losing, information on help for gambling addiction, as well as the risk of becoming addicted to gambling.

The European Commission believe that as internet gambling is the fastest growing service in the European Union, it is important to keep the 6.8 million people who gamble online aware of all the facts.

They are also pushing for a law to be created banning any gambling firms from sponsoring events that are aimed at minors.
