Hungary Cracks Down On Illegal Gaming Sites

A recent news article in the Budapest Times has reported that the Hungarian Tax office will be shutting down the following three illegal online gambling sites operating in Hungry over the course of the next couple of weeks; Hu.sportingbets.com, Betclic.com and Bet-at-home.com.

Back in July 2013, a law was passed in parliament that required all online betting and gambling platforms to have a five year state permit.  All sites without a state permit would automatically be blocked in Hungary.  The law also required all online gambling sites with a permit to check all their players’ personal details to insure that they are in fact over 18.
