The United Kingdom Gambling Commission has recently released a report showing the different gambling statistics for between October 2012 and September 2013.

The report covers all land based and online gambling sites, excluding any money taken by the National Lottery.  The report highlighted the fact that betting shops are still the most popular way to gamble in the UK with gross takings of £3.3 billion.

Land based and online casino sites each made around half this at £1.1 billion; however, the UK Gambling Commission did note that online gambling had risen in popularity making an additional £127 million since their previous report.
