Latvia Meets With France to Discuss Online Gambling Frameworks
Just last week, the Latvian Lotteries and Gambling Supervisory Inspection (LGSI) travelled to France to met with their Autorité de régulation des jeux en ligne (ARJEL), which is basically France’s regulatory authority for online games.
Although, the online gambling framework differs greatly between the two countries, the LGSI wanted to be able to discuss their common interests, to see if they could gain any new ideas on how to first of all handle illegal operating sites, and secondly how to keep online gamblers safe.
The talks were announced as being friendly and informative; however, the two different gambling markets differed so significantly that it was a struggle for the two regulators to find any mutual areas to agree on.
