The Dutch Council of Ministers has been working on finalising a variety of issues before online gambling becomes legal in the Netherlands next year.  They have decided that online gambling operators will only have to pay 20% tax, compared to the 29% that land based casino operators pay.

However, online casinos will also have to fork out an annual 1.5% of their turnover to the Dutch Gaming Authority, Kansspelautoriteit and an additional 0.5% to a problem gambling charity.  This charity has yet to be set up the government; however, it will be tasked with helping any problem gamblers in the country.
