Playtech has successfully expanded its presence in the U.S. iGaming market by launching operations in West Virginia. This marks a significant milestone as it becomes the fourth regulated state in the U.S. where Playtech has established a footprint. The strategic entry into West Virginia underscores Playtech's commitment to providing cutting-edge gaming technology and engaging digital entertainment across the U.S.

The rollout in West Virginia is marked by partnerships with several major operators including Rush Street Interactive (RSI), DraftKings, Delaware North, and BetMGM. These collaborations enable local players to enjoy access to Playtech's acclaimed casino games, random number generator (RNG) content, and immersive live gaming experiences.

Playtech anticipates further collaborations with additional operators, fueling its steady growth trajectory in the U.S. market.

Strategic Growth in the U.S. Market

Playtech's entry into West Virginia aligns with its broader strategy to expand its portfolio of regulated operations within the United States. Alongside New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Michigan, West Virginia now joins the list of states where Playtech's content is available for legal gaming, providing players with innovative gaming options.

Jonathan Doubilet, Vice President of U.S. Business Operations at Playtech, highlighted the significance of this expansion, stating, “Our expansion into this regulated iGaming state reflects our strong strategic focus on delivering engaging, innovative, and responsible entertainment to players, while supporting our partners with the latest in gaming technology. Supporting our customers across all regulated states and countries in which they operate is at the heart of what we do.”

Doubilet also emphasized the trust and confidence that industry operators place in Playtech, highlighting that their reputation as an agile and scalable partner is key to addressing the demands of the rapidly growing U.S. iGaming industry.

Global Expansion and Market Potential

While expanding in the U.S., Playtech also continues to build its global presence. Recent international agreements include a poker partnership with France's Pari Mutuel Urbain, an ongoing collaboration with Hard Rock Digital in New Jersey, and a content agreement with High Roller in Ontario. These ventures signal Playtech's increasing influence and adaptability in multiple jurisdictions.

The U.S. iGaming market's potential remains vast as it matures, with the American Gaming Association reporting commercial gaming revenue reaching $72.04 billion in 2024, and nearly $8 billion generated from online casino operations. With only seven U.S. states currently offering regulated iGaming, significant growth opportunities still exist. In states yet to legislate iGaming, the popularity of alternative platforms such as sweepstakes and predictor-style sites indicates a strong consumer appetite for digital gambling products.

Playtech's entry into West Virginia not only bolsters its presence in a competitive market but also highlights its preparedness to assist partners in navigating the dynamic landscape of the U.S. iGaming industry.
