Italy to Improve Taxation Rates for Online Gambling Sites

The Italian government has announced that they are planning on changing some of the rules and procedures for Italian online gambling operators, to allow them to compete with international rivals.

They have come up with a better tax regime that will soon allow operators to pay up to 20% tax on their gross gaming revenues. They are also planning on allowing sites to be more in control of their wagering options, rather than setting them set wagering limits. This will give operators a better competitive freedom, especially in the sports betting industry.

The changes are rumoured to be going live by April 2015.
