The crime of the century plays out over 5 reels. Players win by matching 3 or more symbols either vertically or horizontally, with playing card icons worth less than statues, Van Gogh paintings, and fabulous diamonds in the museum.  

A thief is the highest-paying symbol, also acting as others if needed to complete combinations. Winning symbols vanish from the reels, and others cascade down from above to fill the gaps. If this creates new wins, the cascades repeat. A wild symbol appears on the middle of the 5x5 grid after the first cascade, while rising multipliers of up to 5x over apply to any series of wins.

After any random spin, a Thief Skills feature could trigger. This could be all symbols of one type replaced by another in the Hacking feature, to boost the odds of a win. Alternatively, 2 wilds added to the reels in the Harness feature, or 2 types of symbols disappearing to trigger a cascade in the Smoke Bomb round.

Wins from the work of art symbols fill a special meter. Once the meter is full, the Thief Skills are activated for the next spin. If all symbols clear from the reels in the Smoke Bomb, players enter the Mona Lisa room for a series of free spins.
