Atlantic City Casino’s Oppose Restoration of the Wire Act

Earlier this year, the Coalition to Stop Internet Gambling put together a proposal to try and get the America’s Wire Act Reinstalled, which would result in online gambling being banned throughout America.

The proposal is currently in the Senate and House of Representatives and has faced fierce opposition from the online gambling industry.  The Casino Association of New Jersey is the latest to oppose the restoration of the act.  They represent a mixture of land based and online gambling sites in Atlantic City including; Caesars Atlantic City, Bally’s, and Harrah’s Resort AC, etc.

They believe online gambling in New Jersey is under strict and competent regulation and that by restoring the act the government would be going against states rights.
