Dutch Land-Based Casino Operators Fear Introduction of Online Gambling

Online gambling in the Netherlands is due to be legalised next year; however, the Land Gambling Trade Body has since contacted the media in regards to some concerns it has over the matter.

First of all, they are worried about the competition, as they believe land based casinos will end up losing customers to online gambling, which could result in drastic job losses.  They believe up to 6,000 jobs could be put at risk.  Secondly, they do not think it is fair that the online sites get to pay a lower tax rate of 20%, when they will be taxed at 29%.
