Malaysian Police Crack Down on Illegal Online Gambling Operators

malaysia_city.png

Back in October this year, the Malaysian Police implemented a new law named Ops Dadu that allows them to raid and arrest illegal online gambling operators in their country.  Since the law change, they have raided over 16,000 illegally operating venues and have arrested over 660 people.

They have also been researching and ISP-blocking illegally operating gambling sites in the country.  However, that hasn’t stopped operators from thinking outside the box.  The police have found that they are now meeting potential gambling clients at restaurants, before escorting them to a new short-term premise to gamble.  They have also found a rise in mobile gambling, which means that the gambling is not taking place in one premises.
