Online Operators Start to Exit Singapore
Earlier on in the week, we talked about how Singapore would soon be implementing a new remote gambling act. The act would only award licenses to gambling companies that were first of all based in Singapore and secondly were a non-profit and charity based.
This new development has led to a range of online operators preparing to leave the market altogether as they do not wish to break the law and face fines up to $500,000 and potentially jail time.
A variety of companies have already stopped new players from Singapore from joining their site. Other comapnies have advised their Singapore players that once the new law has been implemented they will no longer be able to play at their site.
