Singapore’s Remote Gambling Act Goes Ahead
Lawmakers have now approved Singapore’s Remote Gambling Act, which means that there will soon be a huge change to their gambling industry.
The new act criminalises all remote gambling activity that has not been approved from the government. It is not just the sites and operators that could get into trouble for operating without a license in Singapore, as any players found to be gambling at an illegal site will also be punished.
Gaining a license will also be difficult, as the government will only hand out a license to companies that are charity based, not for profit and that have to be based and operated in Singapore. Even then, they will still not be able to provide any casino based games.
