Rob Davies, the Minister of Trade and Industry in South African has suspended the entire National Gambling Board until future notice.  Mr Davies has hired two new administrators to see to the daily management of the board, whilst a forensic investigation takes place.

The reason for the suspension has not announced; however, earlier this month attorneys contacted the board regarding the infringement of the Lotteries Act 57, which was created in 1997.  The attorneys believe that certain sports pool betting operators are breaking the act and should have their licenses revoked.
