Who Is Authorised to License in Kenya?
Back in August 2013, the Kenyan government issued a notice allowing individual provinces to make their own rules when it came to gambling. The Council of Governors, who run said provinces took this to mean that they were also in charge of the licensing process.
However, the Betting Control and Licensing Board in Kenya believe that they should carry on awarding gambling licenses throughout Kenya as gambling is a security issue. The Council of Governors has hit back at this claim saying that any companies that gain a licence from the Betting Control and Licensing Board will not be valid and will; therefore, not be able to legally operate in their provinces.
