Some of the most famous online progressive jackpot slots are from Swedish developer NetEnt, and in 2017, their top titles have awarded jackpots totalling €78,300,000 to lucky punters.

SOME MASSIVE AWARDS IN 2017

Spread out across 321 jackpot awards from Mega Fortune, Mega Fortune Dreams, Hall of Gods and Divine Fortune, the top prize over the course of the year was for €7.5 million scooped by someone back in June who landed the perfect combination on Hall of Gods. While this isn't quite the €17.8 million world record breaking jackpot paid out by Mega Fortune in early 2013, this was still the fourth-biggest award claimed on NetEnt games.

AN EARLY CHRISTMAS FOR PLAYERS

The pace of jackpot wins hasn't slowed down as the year draws to a close, with Mega Fortune Dreams paying jackpots of €3.3 million and €3.5 million in December. Both of these lucky players were on the mobile version of the game, which has become the most popular in the NetEnt progressive range. It saw the highest number of rounds played, the most unique visitors and the jackpots from this game alone totalled €30.4 million in 2017.

Mega Fortune Dreams alone has paid out around €30 million, but we must not forget Mega Fortune, Arabian Night and Halls of Gods.

ABOUT THE NETENT PROGRESSIVE SLOTS

Mega Fortune has been around since 2009 and was joined more recently by the Dreams version, but both serve up rich reels filled with gold, jewels, yachts, luxury cars and all the trappings of wealth that scooping a huge jackpot can bring.

Hall of Gods is based on the tales of Thor, Odin, Loki and other Nordic legends, perhaps as a reflection of NetEnt's Swedish origins. Divine Fortune, meanwhile, centres around ancient Greek gods and like all of these slots, it comes with several rewarding bonus features such as wilds and free spins games, so even players who don't come away as multi-millionaires could still reap the rewards from the NetEnt progressive games.

COMMENTS FROM NETENT

Henrik Fagerlund, the Chief Product Officer at NetEnt is clearly very proud that the progressive slots from his company have proved so popular and created so many new millionaires.
