There are thousands of online slots out there, and that means that different players are going to be able to enjoy completely different types of games in the genre. With a title like Wild-o-Tron 3000 by Net Entertainment, you're getting a game that will appeal to many players but not all. This is largely because of the high hit-rate gameplay that has a relatively low volatility.
The theme of this title centers around a factory with a bunch of robots. These robots always show up stacked in three parts with a head, body and "legs," and those three parts correspond to three vertically stacked symbols.
Format and Layout
With the stacked symbols driving the majority of the gameplay, it was important for them to pick a format that would work well with this overall gameplay concept. They achieved this with 20 paylines across five vertical reels and three rows. This is a good number (which can't be changed because the paylines are static) because it gives enough ways to win that you can get paid several times on the same spin with the stacked symbols without being so many lines that it's just overwhelming.
Betting isn't very complicated here, but you'll want to pay attention when setting the controls so that you don't accidentally wager the wrong amount. There are two controls, and one of them adjusts the number of coins while the other adjusts the size of those coins. You can make the coins worth $0.01 to $1, and you can bet up to 10 coins per line, which gives a total betting range of $0.20 to $200 per turn. It's pretty clear that this is plenty of a range for virtually every bankroll with lots of options in between these extremes.
Randomly Triggered Wild-o-Tron Feature
The main bonus feature that this game centers around shares its name with the title of the slot. There is no particular way to trigger this feature with symbols. Instead, it'll be started at random on any given spin as a sort of bonus round that you just get every so often with no particular schedule.
The idea here is that at least one (but possibly more than one) of the robot symbols in this game are chosen, and then all instances of them on the reels are turned into wilds. Because they're stacked, that means that you're essentially getting stacked wilds for that spin. It's a cool feature because it can lead to some pretty tremendous payouts, and it's the kind of thing that steps outside of the box a bit compared to what you normally see in terms of bonus features.
Since the wilds give some pretty good payouts on their own, you have an opportunity to take down some pretty serious wins with this feature, which is interesting because they're larger than what you would normally expect the top prizes to be with a game with this level of low volatility.
Wild Symbol Payouts
The wild symbol is a floating silver orb with a big blue W on the side of it that's also glowing. It fits the robot theme really well, but at the same time, it's the only symbol in the entire game that is not a robot itself. As we mentioned above, the wild is a pretty big part of the Wild-o-Tron bonus feature, but it's also a key part of the regular gameplay.
One of the reasons for this is that it offers some pretty strong payouts. You can win 500x for five of a kind, 100x for four of a kind or 30x for three of a kind combinations of this wild.
Other Combinations and Prizes
You'll notice a handful of different robots that are broken up into three stacked symbols each. The newest robots have the highest payouts, and the older-looking ones have the lowest. This is a pretty cool way to show the progression of prizes, and we can't remember having seen something like this before.
The red and orange bots are the two highest on the pay table, and they pay out 300x and 120x for five of a kind combinations, respectively. From there, it drops down to 100x and 80x for the yellow and green robots along similar lines. The blue robot gets players 60x for five of a kind, the silver one pays 50x, and the gold bot is worth 40x for five on a payline.
Overview
This is a pretty cool game for a few different reasons. Wild-o-Tron 3000 by Net Entertainment gives players a theme that you're not really going to find anywhere else blended in with a style of gameplay that you rarely find, and that helps to create a fairly unique overall experience. We don't think that this one will appeal to everyone, but we do think that a majority of players will find it entertaining at the very least.
