If you've ever seen the television game show Deal or No Deal, then you'll recognize immediately that the Deal or No Deal slot by GAMING1 is based on it. The game show is about trying to narrow down a list of numbered suitcases to one that contains a lot of money, and it offers a very exciting style of gameplay. This slot has tried to capture as much of the original game as possible with great features and an exciting visual appeal.

Format and Layout

What you'll get in terms of format with this game is 10 paylines spread across a set of five reels and three rows. This is a common layout for video slots, and the paylines for this game are locked in place, so you can't select fewer than the maximum of 10 (not that you would want to since that usually drops the RTP significantly). Having 10 paylines makes the available bet sizes come out to very even numbers, and this includes bet sizes that range from $0.10 to $10 per spin. High rollers may wish they could get some bet sizes that were bigger, but this range will cover the vast majority of players just fine.

Wild Symbols

You'll notice that a lot of the symbols in this game have dice attached to them, and that's because it's based on an Asian version of the game show. The wild symbol appears in a dark orange, and it counts as a bonus symbol as well. The wild won't give you its own payouts for winning combinations, but it will help you to get extra payouts on the reels and in a bonus feature.

Deal or No Deal Bonus Game

If you pick up at least three of the wild symbols anywhere on the reels, then you'll be taken to the Deal or No Deal bonus game. This plays just like the television game show, and it puts you in front of a bunch of cases with an offer from the banker or the ability to keep your own case. You'll be able to keep refusing banker offers to see more suitcases opened, which will lead to more offers from the banker. Go far enough, and you'll eventually have to decide between keeping your briefcase or not. Your payouts are based on multiples of your wager, so the more you're betting in the game, the more you can win in this game show bonus feature.

Super Games Mode

This slot also has a super games mode, which is a feature you typically only see in classic slots. If you win more than 100 times your bet in a single spin, or if you hit certain winning combinations, you'll get a set of super game tickets that allow you chances to hit bigger wins and jackpot. This is a nice bonus feature that runs a bit outside of the box of what you typically see in video slots, and that's the type of thing we like to see.

Top Wins and Pays

The top tier of payouts starts with the green banker symbol. Five of a kind wins 100x with 40 super games added on. Four of a kind will win just 100x. Keep in mind that these wins are multiplied by your total bet size. You can also pick up 100x for five of the woman holding the briefcase. The red buzzler symbol gets you 40x for five of a kind, and the briefcase symbold does as well.

Low-Tier Payouts

The bottom end of the pay table consists completely of dice symbols. The yellow six and orange five pay 20x for five of a kind. You can also win 8x for five of the green four, five of the blue three or five of the purple two. These dice are a great fit in this game and fit the visual style really well. We're really glad they decided not to go with card rank symbols for the low-tier symbols in this game because they would have stood out like a sore thumb and wouldn't have fit the overall motif on any level.

In Summary

The Deal or No Deal slot by GAMING1 captures as much of the original game show as they possibly could in a video slot. It has a great feature set and solid regular mode play with wild symbols and a variety of wins at different levels. The visual presentation of the game is also particularly solid, and it looks modern and sleek just like the set of the game show itself. If you're a fan of the game show or of offbeat slots, this is a title that you should definitely try out.
