The story of Aladdin has been told in a lot of different ways, including with a very popular movie produced by Disney. The Crazy Genie slot centers around the same genie from that story, and he helps to grant some serious wishes on the reels by giving you extra ways to win big with several bonus features. This game has a very good look to it, and the gameplay is solid as well with a balanced pay table and a ton of features.
This game has static paylines with five reels and three rows. There are 20 ways to win on each spin. The minimum amount you can bet per spin is $0.20, and that's the same as betting one coin on each of those paylines. The most the game can allow you to play for is $500 per spin, but some casinos may limit this to a lower value, so it just depends on where you're playing from. This slot uses a pretty common format that's popular among players to provide a strong foundation for the rest of the game.
The genie himself is wild. Five of a kind pays 300x, and four of a kind gets you 100x. You can win 30x for three of a kind as well. While the genie as a character does help you to get a bonus feature, he doesn't do it with the wild symbol. Instead, he does it with the scattered lamp symbol.
This lamp only appears on the second, third and fourth reels. When you get all three of them on the reels at once, you'll be taken to a wheel that spins to determine which of the five bonus features you'll get.
The first of the bonus features is the Gold Bonus. This gives you six free spins called golden spins, and they give you more chances to win on each spin with lots of golden symbols. Next up is the Gift Bonus. This has you choose between 10 different possible gifts by picking from 10 different golden coins with the genie's face on them. This awards instant wins that are worth several times your triggering bet size.
You can also win the Treasure Bonus, which is another "pick a box" style bonus feature. You'll pick from several different treasures inside of a giant tomb like the one Aladdin descended into in the story. With the Lamp Bonus, you'll rub a lamp to get a random win, and with the Oasis Bonus, you'll actually swing a stick at a pinana shaped like a lamp while out by an oasis to see how many coins will fall out for your win.
These bonus features are varied quite a bit in how they work and how much they can give you in winnings. You'll notice on the wheel that they do not have an equal chance of happening either, so even though the game you get is chosen at random, some have a higher chance of being picked than others.
The upper tier of payouts starts with the sabre in the pile of coins. It has the same prizes as the wild symbol with 300x for five of a kind. Five of the snake hugging gold gets you 200x as well. The magic carpet is green in this game, and it will get you a win of 150x for a five-of-a-kind combination. Rounding out the bottom-end of the best symbols is the hand of the genie wearing a ring and giving a thumbs-up, and it pays 100x for five.
Red Tiger Gaming used card rank symbols for the bottom tier of payouts in this slot, and while we typically aren't a fan of them if they are just thrown together, that's not the case here. Instead, they are stylized so that they fit the theme really well, and they look pretty great.
The red A will pay out 80x for a five-of-a-kind win. The purple K and green Q are worth 60x and 50x, respectively. The blue J gets you 40x, and the bottom symbol is the yellow 10, which is worth 30x for five on a payline.
Like all of Red Tiger Gaming's slots, Crazy Genie looks great. It has a fresh style of graphics and exciting animations that draw the player in quite a bit. Aside from that, the gameplay is decent enough as well with a low volatility thanks to a balanced pay table and a reasonable hit-rate. Having five different bonus features is pretty cool too, though they are all triggered in the same way, and some of them are essentially the same type of bonus feature with a different visual approach. Overall, this is a solid game, and it's one of the better titles that uses the Aladdin-type of theme.
