Ever feel like just vegging out in front of the TV, watching your favorite shows or some music videos? Well, that’s what Beavis and Butthead used to all day long in the 90s. The dynamic slacker duo is back now in the form of this offering by Blueprint Gaming.
Relive the 90s Generation X nostalgia with this meticulous recreation of the popular show and get ready to win some money, because this is a game jam-packed with special features.
Well before “Family Guy” and “South Park” Beavis and Butthead were the show people turned to for irreverent and edgy commentary of the goings-on in society.
Their favorite pastime…
…sitting in front of the TV and slagging of music videos.
Blueprint Gaming has decided to recreate that iconic part of the show. Our two heroes sit in front of a shabby old TV except this time they’re playing slots.
The graphics and overall look are completely on point here, capturing the vibe and feel of the show and bringing it right to your mobile or desktop.
One thing we really liked is that Beavis and Butthead will comment on what’s going on. We couldn’t help but laugh when we heard the words “that sucks” after we narrowly missed a bonus.
For the most part, this is a standard game with five reels and three rows, autoplay, all that stuff.
One interesting thing…
…is that the bet can go as high as 500 euros, so all the high roller Beavis and Butthead fans (there’s gotta be at least one) will be catered to. It can also go as low as ten cents which is probably much more representative.
Another thing setting this one apart is a large number of randomly activated features. There are eight in total and they can do anything from adding more wilds to the reels to simply changing the channel to reveal a win.
There’s no shortage of these either. Six different bonus games are on offer here and all themed after famous bits from the show.
There is the Customers Suck bonus set in a fast food joint where Beavis and Butthead work as cashiers. Click boxes to reveal what’s inside – burgers will increase the bet multiplier but if they’re wormy that’s not good. Get three and it’s game over.
That’s hardly all…
…as there are too many features to even keep count. Some of them are mini-games and some of them are free spins but they’re all hilarious and fans of the show will relish discovering little homages and Easter eggs the developers left inside.
High production values, excellent graphics and an understanding of the source material are what makes this game special. What could have easily been a soulless exercise in cash-grabbing is instead a fun trip down memory lane for everyone who used to watch MTV in the 90s and wished they could be as cool as Beavis and Butthead.
