There's a region known as the Kamchatka Peninsula in Russia, and it's the basis for the Kamchatka slot. Endorphina made this a nature-based game with a variety of wild animals, and there's also some beautiful scenery in the background that helps to frame the gameplay in a smart way.
With a game based on nature themes, there's always a bit of a reliance on better gameplay to keep players interested. That's exactly what you'll find here with a good balance of features and value from the pay table.
One aspect of gameplay that's important is hit-rate, and the 243-ways format used for this title means that the hit-rate is going to be fairly high. Five reels, three rows and all ways win means that it's pretty easy to get winning combinations since the symbols don't have to fall on any particular line.
Players can adjust their coin sizes in the top-left corner, and multiples of 30 coins per wager can be placed in the bottom-left corner. This lends itself to bets that go from $0.30 to up into the hundreds on each turn. The bottom line is that you'll have no problem finding a bet size that works for you.
Volcano Scatter Payouts
The most impressive regular prizes in this slot come from the volcano symbol that looks a bit like a scary storm scene. You can get paid 3,000x for five of this scatter anywhere on the game board. A win of 300x can be yours for four of a kind, and even just three of a kind earns you a win of 150x. These payouts are on the upper end, and the five-of-a-kind prize is actually this game's top regular jackpot.
Bear Wild Symbols
In an all-ways slot environment, wild symbols become even more important because they can land anywhere on a given reel to substitute for winning combinations. On top of that, they can substitute for several symbols at the same time to give multiple payouts if the symbols fall the right way. This is why the wild bear symbol is particularly important in this title.
A 500x win is yours for five of a kind, and you can make it 100x for four. A 60x win is yours for three, but keep in mind that this is on top of any four-of-a-kind or five-of-a-kind wins that they help you to get in addition to these wild combinations.
Geyser Symbols and Bonus Feature
The geyser symbol is a mid-level symbol with 400x available for five of a kind. You can also earn 80x for four or 50x for three of a kind.
If you get one of these geyser symbols on the first and last reels at the same time, then you get five picks from geysers with instant wins for each pick worth between 2x at the low end and 15x at the upper end. During these free spins, the multiplier is not applicable to these payouts.
Free Spins Bonus Feature
The main bonus feature is based on a set of free spins. You'll trigger them with a minimum of three scatter symbols anywhere on the grid. You'll get a 2x multiplier on all of your pays, though this does not include Geyser Bonus wins, and that lends itself to some pretty good chances to win since it applies to the big scatter symbol payouts as well. It goes without saying that the right set of wins during this feature with the multiplier could definitely kick your account balance into overdrive.
The moose is the best-paying symbol that's not wild, scattered or tied to a feature. It gets you 350x when you're able to get five of a kind. A combination of five of the wolf symbol gets players a prize of 300x, and it's 200x for five of the fox. You'll notice that the pay table is pretty balanced with a lot of mid-level wins along these lines.
The large fish and the bird each give you 100x if you get five of a kind. Five of the A and K are each worth 80x, and getting five of the Q or J will pay out 60x at the lowest end of the pay table.
Endorphina did an excellent job with the visual elements of the Kamchatka video slot. They also brought sufficient gameplay so that it would be a lot of fun to play as well. The experience players get here balances three things extremely well: action from features, value from the pay table and a great-looking visual experience.
While the theme itself is a bit bland, even though it's based on a beautiful region of Russia, it's executed in a way that works out pretty well for players who focus on gameplay. If you want a title with a big flashy theme instead, then this probably won't be for you.
