The Irish are known for having a lot of symbols related to the idea of luck, and the Lucky Lands slot by Endorphina takes advantage of that by putting several of them into the same theme. The visual presentation of this game is pretty strong, which is what you would expect from this developer, but they've balanced this out with strong gameplay as well. This comes in the form of a pay table with small, medium and large wins along with some good features that allow you even bigger pays.
Format and Layout
The layout of this game is simple enough. You'll have 25 paylines that pay from left to right only on a grid of five reels with three horizontal rows of symbols. It's important to point out that you do have the ability to play with fewer than 25 paylines. However, that will lower your RTP percentage, so we recommend that you avoid doing that. Betting is controlled by having coin sizes of $0.01 to $1 each, leading to a minimum wager of $0.25 per turn with all paylines activated. With that having been said, you can put up to 10 coins on each line, so that maximum bet size is actually a pretty hefty $250 per turn.
Wild Multiplier Symbol and Payouts
The symbol that we believe to be the most important in this game in terms of how you get paid is the wild symbol. In this title, it's a redheaded woman with a small green hat on her head. She's important for three reasons. First, she helps you to get extra payouts by substituting for every symbol in this game other than the scatter symbol, which we'll get into below. Second, she doubles any regular payout that she's a part of when at least one of her appears in the winning combination.
Third, she gives some pretty strong payouts on her own. Five of a kind of this gorgeous lady gets you 3,000x, and you can even pick up a 2,000x secondary jackpot for only four of a kind on an activated payline. Wins of 200x and 10x are yours for three of a kind and two of a kind, respectively.
Scattered Pots of Gold and Free Spins
The other symbol besides the wild that you're really going to want to see a lot of is the pot of gold. It's scattered as a bonus symbol, but it doesn't give its own payouts. Regardless, when you pick up at least three of this symbol anywhere on the game board, you'll have an option to pick between four different free spins modes. The modes differ based on the number of free turns you get and the multiplier applied to all of your wins.
Players can choose from the following: 20 free spins with a 2x multiplier, 15 free spins with a 3x multiplier, 10 free spins with a 5x multiplier or five free spins with a 10x multiplier. In terms of pure value, the 20-spin option is the worst, but the 10-spin and 5-spin options are the best. The 15-spin option is in the middle and offers a reasonable balance between value and volatility.
Note that the wild multiplier stacks with the multipliers from these free spin modes. For example, if you get a wild win with a free spins multiplier of 3x, then your total multiplier on the win will be 6x overall.
Top-level Wins and Prizes
Five symbols make up the upper end of the remainder of the pay table. The lucky rabbit's foot and the ladybug both give you a 750x win for five of a kind. They also pay for two of a kind or more, and are the only top-tier symbols to do so. The rest require at least three. These other symbols include a horseshoe for a 400x win for five, and you can also win 250x for five of a kind payouts of the shamrock or the gold coin.
The rest of the payouts in this game are dictated by the card rank symbols. The purple A gives players 125x for five, and five of the red K drops things down to 100x. You can also earn 100x for five of a kind of the yellow Q, blue J or red 10. However, while the green 9 also gives you 100x for five on an activated payline, it's the only card rank symbol to also give you a win for just two of a kind.
What we really like about the Lucky Lands slot is the amount of multipliers available from both the wilds and the free spins. We also like how you can choose from four different free spins bonus rounds with different levels of volatility. Put all of that together with a great-looking theme, and Endorphina did an excellent job with how this title was built overall.
