There is an abundance of online slots that use themes based on Egypt in some way, shape or form. The only hope these games have of standing out from the dozens that already exist is by creating aspects of the experience that players haven't seen before. The 3 Elements slot by FUGA Gaming may not quite make it that far, but they have put together a decent enough game with some different types of features and options to adjust the fundamental gameplay that are nice and a bit different.

Format and Layout

Most games have a set number of paylines, and if you change that number, then you take on a disadvantage. This company thinks differently, so you can actually play with 20, 30 or 40 paylines with no RTP change between those three options. That's a very nice level of customization, and it's something we're a big fan of. As you can tell from your first glance at the game, however, it has five reels and three rows like most titles in the genre.

Betting is pretty easy as well, even with the different options for the number of paylines. You'll choose a line bet wager amount, and that starts as low as $0.01. It goes up to the $2 level, so if you're playing with 40 paylines, the betting ranges from $0.40 to $80 per spin. However, if you want to drop it down to 20 paylines, the true minimum is just $0.20. Different players have different preferences on this, and you're free to pick whatever appeals to you the most for any reason that you want.

The Eye of Ra Feature

The eye of Ra is the black eye symbol on the purple background with white stars, and it shows up on the middle reel only. It's responsible for a feature that can help you to get extra payouts. The way it works is that it can switch places with other symbols that are beside of it to help you to get wins you would have missed out on otherwise. This is definitely off of the "beaten path" of normal features, and it's a minor but cool innovation that we can't seen from other software developers.

Chest Picking Bonus Feature

There are three parts of an amulet that show up on different symbols, and those three symbols appear on the second, third and fourth reels only. If you get all three of them on the reels at once, then you'll be able to take part in a treasure hunting type of game. This will put you in front of a number of chests, and you have to pick from them until you get two of the same object. When you do, that object will give you a payout. However, if you put together the amulet with those chest, then you get the super prize, which is the largest bonus payout available in the entire game.

Re-spin Feature

The blue, shining skull symbol is a scatter on every reel. Get at least three on the reels at one time to start a set of re-spins. The way this works it that they will change color to be either yellow, green or red. They don't make winning combos by themselves, but they will fall off whenever a winning combination is hit based on the color. Once all of the skulls fall off of the reels, you'll go back to the normal game mode, but a number of wins are guaranteed with this feature.

The yellow skulls are a wild that substitutes for anything but the girl. The green skulls give you increasing win multipliers of up to 7x, and they also do the same thing as the yellow. Finally, the red does the same wild feature as the yellow, but they also turn into stacks to give you more chances to get wins.

Top Pays and Winning Combos

The girl symbol is the best-paying symbol in the game, and she's the only that gives you a win for two of a kind. Five of her on a payline pays out 2,500x. Five of the dog will earn 1,500x, and you can line up five of the airplane for a solid 1,200x win. The win is 500x for five of the jackal, and the golden woman with the multi-colored feathers is worth 400x for five. The scarab, which is a blue and gold beetle in this game, can get you 250x for five, and the card rank symbol pays vary from 200x to 100x for five of a kind.

In Summary

It's always a good thing to see companies like FUGA Gaming put together games that have different types of ideas, even if they use a theme that's been used a lot like what happened here with the Egyptian theme in 3 Elements. The features aren't the standard fare either, and that helps it to stand out. The graphics in this game aren't the best, and that's probably its only real weakness, but it's a decent title overall.
