It's not uncommon to see online slots based around different types of animals. Yggdrasil Gaming has done something a bit different than what you normally see with these types of titles when it comes to their Penguin City online slot. It has great graphics and strong gameplay, but it's the story that makes it stand out the most compared to other similar titles.

This game stands out for having a bit of a story along with a hilarious situation in general where all of the penguins in the city are forced to make different types of food for the emperor penguin (wordplay intended). From there, they decide to try to escape, and that's where the slot starts off.

Game Layout

The layout of this title is designed to give a lot of small and medium payouts. You'll have five reels and three rows to play with, and the all ways format is in effect. As a result, there are 243 ways to win in each direction. We say each direction because you can be paid from left-to-right or right-to-left, and that also means that all five-of-a-kind payouts are doubled in size.

Betting allows for 25 coins per spin, and you get to select the size of the coins that you're using. To give players a wider available range of sizes, particularly on the lower end, the smallest coin size is the super-low $0.004. This lends itself to a $0.10 bet size per spin. Likewise, you can wager as much as $5 per turn, and that means $125 is your maximum bet size. This is a significant enough range to cover virtually everyone's needs.

Sticky Wild Symbols

Wild symbols in this game appear on the second and fourth reels. The box of food with the red background is the highest-paying symbol in this slot. It's worth 250x for five of a kind. Players can also win a close secondary prize of 200x for five of the bottle of soy sauce. The pot on the green background earns players 150x for five of a kind, and a winning combination of five of the bowl of food symbol on a blue background will get you 125x. Finally, five of the food being cut up by a cleaver on a cutting board with an orange background gets players a solid 100x prize.

Lower-level Wins

The four card suit symbols are used for the bottom end of the pay table.
