There's no shortage of online slots that use Egyptian themes of one kind or another. Yggdrasil Gaming is very aware of that, so with the Tut's Twister slot, they avoided a lot of the common themes and tropes that you see with titles in this sub-genre. Instead, they focused on a different style of gameplay and avoided getting too generic with the Egyptian theme. Instead, it's all centered around the magical power of a resurrected King Tut.

Layout and Format

The format of this game is set up to facilitate the main features as much as possible, so it's a little different than most titles you've probably seen before. There are five reels and four rows, the second most popular grid size in the industry, but there are 25 paylines. While 25 paylines on a 5x3 game is super common, having it on a 5x4 is not common at all.

Across these lines, which you can't change the number of, you can pick coin sizes starting at $0.004 for a spin bet size of $0.10 per turn. This goes up to coin sizes of $5, which give you $125 wagered on each spin, and this shows that low stakes players, high stakes players and everyone else in between are more than welcome to check this game out.

Wild Tut Symbol

The wild symbol is by far the most important symbol in this game, and a significant part of the gameplay centers around it. Tut in gold is the symbol for the wild, and it appears on all reels. As you'll see below, it can appear in a number of different ways, but you can also get a column of wilds on the reels as a part of the main bonus feature, and we're going to take a look at that down below. However, you should know that there are not any payouts just for the wild symbols in this game. That's one thing that would have really put this title over the top, but it's pretty excellent as it is on its own.

Single Wild Bonus

Players can have a chance to pick up a mystery feature if they have a spin where just one wild symbol appears on the reels in the regular game mode. There are three possibilities for this feature. The first is that you just get an instant win, and this can be worth as much as 2,500x, so it's actually got the potential to be the largest regular prize in the whole game. You can also add one hieroglyph to the game board, which is shown above the reels and important to the strength of the Twister Feature. Finally, you can add a second wild to the reels at random, which will then trigger the same Twister Feature as well.

Tut's Twister Feature

The name of the game comes down to this one feature, which is the main centerpiece of the whole slot. When you get two wilds on the reels at the same time, this feature is triggered. The leftmost wild will expand to cover the whole reel, and that becomes the twister that will stay in place for the duration of the feature. From there, any other wilds will move one space towards the twister between free re-spins. Any new wilds that appear during these spins become a part of the feature, and it keeps going until you're down to having no wilds left other than the twister itself.

Once it's down to no wilds left, you get one final re-spin to see if you can pick up anymore wilds to continue the feature. If not, then the twister explodes, sending all of the collected wilds across the reels to give you a final opportunity to cash in on some serious payouts.

Particularly Balanced Prizes

The pay table for this game is super balanced and largely filled with mid-level pays. Wins of 130x are yours for five of the red chalice symbol, and you can get 120x for five of the purple crown. With the green ring or blue scroll symbols, wins of 110x and 100x, respectively, can be yours for five of a matching symbol on a payline.

The four card suit symbols make up the remaining four symbols. The payouts are 35x, 30x, 25x and 20x for five of a kind combinations of the red heart, purple spade, green club or blue diamond symbols, respectively.
