This is a fun little video slot game released by Amatic Industries, with a 5x4 layout, 50 pay lines and a well-executed Oriental theme.
Though the term “little” might lead you to think Plenty Dragons might be lacking when it comes to features, this isn’t the case. The word is used here as a term of endearment, as this game packs a lot of charm.
It’s not to say that it offers anything groundbreaking, though. Just a look at the rather short information menu tells you that there isn’t that much happening here, as clearly as it tells you how the game works.
Theme
Plenty Dragons has, well, dragons, as well as lotus flowers, koi fish, and many other creatures on a colorful red and green background framed in a gold rim. Needless to say – the theme is undoubtedly Oriental.
While it is far from modern-looking with two-dimensional symbols on a simple board, the look works well for what it’s trying to achieve, especially given the fact that the symbols are rather colorful and very well illustrated.
Music is minimalist, to the extent that it plays for a few seconds when entering the game and then becomes pretty much non-existent, though the buttons and reel spinning sound effects are, of course, still there.
Betting Options and Functions
As a 5-reel and 4-row slot machine with multipliers, Wild and Scatter symbols, there are many ways to generate winnings, though it has to be mentioned that wins pay only from left to right.
There are a few things available via the dashboard at the bottom of the screen. You can adjust the number of active bet lines. With a total of 50 paylines available, 10 is the minimum amount the game can be played with.
To the right, there is a maximum bet option, with bets ranging from 10 to 10000.
Right next to the maximum bet button is an auto spin button, here under the name of "autoplay", that can be stopped at any moment. Bet is adjusted on the furthest right corner, alongside the spin button.
Spins could be a bit faster though, as the game can feel like it drags out after a while.
What Are The Features?
There are eight symbols overall, but the truly important ones are, first and foremost, a dragon, which serves as a Wild symbol that substitutes for all other, except the next important one - a Scatter symbol, which is a pearl surrounded by flames.
Speaking of the Scatter symbol, there are several things of note. First, it pays in any position. Second, it acts as a multiplier of the total bet. And lastly, Scatter wins are added to the line wins.
To Wrap It Up
While certainly not bringing anything new and different to the table in terms of features and function, Amatic Industries’ Plenty Dragons achieves what it aims to do.
It brings a simple, 5-reel slot game, that works well, isn't needlessly complicated and provides a distinct visual style that takes you somewhere else, somewhere more exotic. And sometimes, that is all you need.
