Theme

Mad Men and Nuclear War takes a rather blunt look at the phenomenon of nuclear weapons with an eye to the days of the Cold War between the USA and the USSR.

The End of the World as We Know It

Burning cities, devastated homes, and nuclear flames feature in the background. There’s no music left in this world, but the ice rockin in the whiskey glass still gives out its own sound effects, as do certain other symbols.

The reels are filled with symbols fitting the theme; characters from Mad Men and symbols of nuclear warfare. Whiskey glasses, hats, and half-burnt cigarettes, bombs, shelters, mysterious cases, salesmen, and secretaries.

Quality is excellent and theme-wise there is little room for improvement. A few animations here and there would have helped with the atmosphere, but are not necessary to make this production top-notch.

Betting Options

Bet slider on the right-hand side and line selector on the left-hand side as seems to be the case with all BF games. You can choose between five, ten or twenty paylines, and set the bet between 0.01 and 2.5 coins per line.

As is again the case, the maximum stake is 50 coins per spin.

Most symbols pay when there are three to five on an active payline. Combinations are always formed from left to right.

The man, woman, and the Wild form a winning combination with just two symbols as well. Five wilds is the symbol combination worth most, paying out 10 000x the line bet. Five scatters pays 2000x your bet, with the remaining combinations ranging between five and 750x your line bet.

Special Features

Make it to the nuclear shelter in time by gathering three of the said symbols on the reels, and you are awarded ten free spins with a double multiplier. The spins can be re-triggered, in which case the cumulative total is increased by another ten spins.

Wilds double every win they are part of, though this only happens once. During free spins in this non-progressive release, this means that the wilds can lead to quadruple the normal wins. Though this by no means you’ll always walk away from a pocket full of cash the right combination with the right bet level can lead to massive wins.

Our Take

Apart from the slightly strange theme, this slot combines features that are quite familiar from other BF Games, for example, Stunning 27. If this is your first time in contact with the producer then this is as good slot as any to start with. If not, it’s still well worth a few spins given the nice graphics and big wins. High variance means that you should play carefully.
