Divine Fortune is a 5 reel, 20 payline progressive jackpot slot from Net Entertainment. You are taken back to classical ancient Greek featuring mythical creatures such as Medusa, Minotaur and Phoenix.
Look out for wilds in the base game…
… as they will trigger the Falling Wilds Re-Spins feature which shifts wilds 1 position down with re-spins – you will continue to get them if more wilds land.
The Wild on Wild feature sees the wild expand to cover the whole reel with other wilds are shifting and giving you free re-spins.
The Free Spins feature gives you up to 12 free spins.
... there are 3 progressive jackpots to be won in the Jackpot Bonus feature.
This isn’t the most dramatic visual slot we’ve ever seen from the Swedish slot wizards. It isn’t character-led like the popular Gonzo’s Quest and it doesn’t have the big 3D animation of branded movie slots like Aliens.
It is, despite this, a very pretty and entertaining game.
The artwork is simply beautiful, and the theme is classically represented rather than being cheesy or try-hard.
The audio too is subtle but well produced, with an enveloping light music soundtrack and some very nice bespoke sound effects for each of the main pay characters, the wilds and bonus scatters.
...the theme is attractive and pleasant but doesn’t detract from the game play, which is by far the big draw on this slot.
As a five reel, three row game, Divine Fortune doesn’t break the mold in the way it works. You have a fixed 20 pay-line format so mostly your slot game strategy is limited to selecting a bet size which works for your bankroll and spinning away.
The bet range is decent at 0.20 to 100.00 credits and the bet sizing doesn’t affect the games great fixed RTP of 96.69%.
...NetEnt do indicate that it’s easier to win the highest of the three progressive jackpots on this slot with a higher bet and the two smaller jackpots overall value is linked to bet size too. We can see that’s clearly been factored into the math somewhere though NetEnt aren’t saying what the calculation is exactly – high rollers will approve of being rewarded for high stakes play.
Icon wise by far the best is the Pegasus wild, which creatively expands and flies up and down the reels depending on which aspect of the wild symbol mechanic is active. When a wild lands on the reels, it triggers a free reel re-spin. Land a further wild behind it and the wild expands in what they are calling a wild on wild feature. MORE about it later…
Other legends of Greek mythology appear too, with Medusa and the Minotaur the most noticeable. The pay-outs for stock symbol combinations of these are a little weak and only three of a kind will barely net you back your total stake in most cases, which sets the game up to really shine and deliver with its array of bonus features and secondary mechanics.
As for bonus features, there are 4 in total.
First up is Falling Wilds Re-Spins feature which is played when a wild appears on the reels – the wild then shifts down 1 position with a re-spin awarded.
This feature applies in both the base game and Free Spins feature. More wild symbols will continue to give you re-spins until all wilds disappear from the reels.
...you have the Wild on Wild feature which is available in both the base game and Free Spins feature – it’s triggered when an overlay wild lands on top of a wild. The wild then expands to take over the whole reel with a new payout consideration taking place.
Each wild symbol then shifts 1 place vertically on the reels with a free re-spin awarded – you will also get 2 overlay wilds on that reel. If 3 or more Free Spins symbols appear in the same spin as a wild, any Falling Wilds Re-Spins are played after the feature is over.
Then you have the Free Spins feature which is played when 3 or more Free Spins symbols appear anywhere in view in the base game or Falling Wilds Re-Spins feature. 3 will give you 5 free spins whilst 4 will give you 8 free spins. If you’re lucky enough to get 5…
...you will win 12 free spins.
Look out for wild symbols during the feature as they will automatically trigger the Wild on Wild feature giving you a fully wild reel. Remember that the Falling Wilds Re-Spins feature also applies which can give you plenty of free re-spins to boost your winning potential.
there’s a Jackpot Bonus feature which is played when 3 or more Bonus symbols (the gold coin) are collected in the base game (including the Falling Wilds Re-Spins feature). These bonus symbols are randomly placed on the reels before the feature starts and has 15 independent reels that spin on their own.
Each bonus symbol can give you a win of between 10 and 200x your stake! Furthermore, you will begin with 3 spins and the number of spins resets to 3 if a Bonus symbol lands on the reels. When the bonus symbols remaining sticky, your aim is to fill rows:
- Fill 1 entire row with bonus symbols to win the Minor Jackpot
- Fill 2 entire rows with bonus symbols to win the Major Jackpot
- Fil 3 entire rows with bonus symbols to win the Mega Jackpot
The ambiance of this NetEnt title might make it very hard to turn this game off, as it really does pull you into another world. Match that with the Jackpot and very competitive RTP of 96.59% and you have yourself a winner.
