Altogether, the Viking Clash slot has something to it in terms of design. The cartoony aesthetics give a Clash of Clans vibe, that would likely draw past players of that game over to more serious business.

Even still, the graphics are nice. The premium symbols are well drawn out and seem quite lively, given the setting.

Betting Options

This non-progressive release has a bit of a different layout, featuring two 25-line reel sets: a Red Reel Set and Green Reel Set. Each reel set includes 5 reels, with 3 rows per reel.

It's playable on all devices from 0.25 to 100 and has a main game random feature and a free spins game. It's quite a simplistic slot despite the unusual reel set.

So, what characters appear on the reels?

The members of the two tribes are the main protagonists of the Push Gaming product. You can distinguish them by the red and the green frame on the symbols. Both green and red tribes consist of three fearless Vikings, only the green tribe has one female member.

Axes and Hammers are used as weapons on both sides and three types of Runes will reveal their destiny. The green tribe uses a Cannon, while the red tribe prefers a Catapult.

Both tribes will generously reward if you decide to join their ranks. For example, both red-bearded Vikings from the red and the green tribe will offer 16x the bet for five of a kind. If you are lucky enough, you might pocket up to 2,400x the bet in a single spin.

These two symbols represent Scatters that trigger free games. The Golden Shield and the Golden Ship are used as Wilds that substitute for all regular symbols, giving you a return of 16x the stake for five across a payline.

Special Features

The Wild Ship Feature is triggered randomly during the base game. When the feature is triggered, a wave will pass over the reels, resulting in either a tease or with several Wild Ship symbols appearing on the reels. The Wild Ships will land on reels 3 to 5 in any random position.

All reels on both reel sets remain static for the duration of the Wild Ship Feature. The Wild Ship symbols will sail across the reels horizontally from right to left, one reel at a time.

Each time that the Wild Ship symbols stop…

...the reel sets that include at least one Wild Ship symbol are evaluated wins.

If 3 or more Red Catapult and/or Green Cannon Scatter symbols land anywhere, the Free Games feature is triggered with 6 initial free spins.

For each Red Catapult that is present when the bonus is triggered…

...a Wild Shield symbol is launched onto the Green reel set, in any position on the reel directly below each Red Catapult symbol.

For each Green Cannon symbol that is present when the Free Games feature is triggered, a Wild Shield symbol is launched onto any random position on the Red reel set.

During the bonus…

...for each Scatter symbol that lands, an additional free game is awarded and another Wild Shield symbol is added to the reels in the same manner as the Free Games feature is triggered.

If a Red Catapult or Green Cannon symbol launches a Wild Shield symbol on top of an existing Wild Shield, a multiplier will be added to the existing Wild Shield.

Wild Shields are sticky and are held in place until the feature is complete.

Our Take

Vikings Clash is a medium to high variance slot with a 96.6% RTP, and a max win potential of 13,200x the stake per single spin in the bonus. The max win in the main game is 800x, possibly more with the help of the Wild Ships feature, although the chances of this happening are slim as it requires a full screen of top symbol on both reel sets. The unusual layout and mega high potential make this game interesting by default, and it turned out to be an all-around good game.
