There are different types of themes that you see often in the online slot industry, and when a developer uses one of those themes, they have to be very careful when it comes to presenting it in a different way than what players have seen done over and over again. In the case of the heist theme in The Wild Chase, Quickspin has done an excellent job of making sure it stands out from the crowd as far as street racing and bank heist games go. It has a sort of Miami Vice kind of theme with a number of features and very solid graphics.

Slot Layout

The layout for this game is very much within the bounds of what players are used to with five reels, three rows and 25 paylines. You select your total bet size in this game instead of dealing with individual coins or how many coins you want to bet per payline, and that range starts at the super low $0.25 per spin level. This is the equivalent to $0.01 being wagered on each payline. You can bet up to $100 per turn, which is the same as $4 on each payline, so it's clear that there's a very wide range of different bet sizes available in this game.

Respin Feature

The key feature that drives most of the gameplay in The Wild Chase I the respin feature. The way this feature works is that whenever you get a winning combination, all of the winning symbols will hold in place while the rest of the symbols spin. Anything that will increase the length of a winning combination will add another respin on until you have a spin where you get no new wins. The total winning amount is paid out after all of the respins have been finished, so you always have a chance at a better payout than what you started out with.

Escalating Wild Multipliers

Wilds show up on all reels in this game, and they act as multipliers. However, they don't do this in the traditional sense. If you get one wild in a winning combination, then you'll get a 2x multiplier on your wins. Each subsequent wild in the same winning combination adds one to the multiplier, up to a maximum of 5x. For example, two wilds get a multiplier of 3x, and three wilds get a multiplier of 4x. Four or five wilds give the same 5x multiplier in this game.

Free Spins Feature

Get three of more of the bonus scatter symbol to pick up a set of 10 free spins. You can keep up with the number of scatters with the bonus meter at the top of the reels. Something that adds a lot of value to the free spins is that every single one of them is guaranteed to have at least one wild show up on the reels. You still need it to be a part of a winning combination to get paid, but this gives you better chances of winning.

Winning Combinations

Winning bet sizes in this game are based on the size of your total bet and not your line bet. The following wins are based on a bet size of $1 per spin, but you can scale the payouts up or down depending on what size of bet you have.

The man on the red background pays $2.00 for five of a kind, and the redheaded woman on the green background will give you $1.60 for the same. Five of the woman on the teal background earns a win worth $1.20, and five of the dark-haired man on the purple background will give you a win worth $1.20 as well.

There are five symbols on the lower end of the pay scale. Five of the bag of diamonds earns $0.96, as do five of the car key. Five of the watch or diamond ring will give you a payout worth $0.80, and five of the wad of cash gives you a solid $0.60 payout.

Overview

The Wild Chase is a great example of Quickspin giving players a lot to work with in terms of high-action features without letting the volatility get out of hand. The way the multipliers work with the wilds is the first time we've seen things handled in that particular way before, and it's a great example of Quickspin thinking out of the box a bit without being too crazy. Overall, this is a very solid game with good graphics and action that fits the heist theme. We think that a wide range of different types of players will be fans of these games.
