Blue Lagoon Slot Review

Blue Lagoon is a 5 reel and 20 fixed pay line video slot game that was released by WMS in June 2011. It includes; a Hot, Hot Penny Features, a Scatter Symbol, a Free Spins round and a Wild symbol.

About The Blue Lagoon

The Blue Lagoon slot game isn’t based upon the famous Icelandic geothermal spa of the same name, but rather takes place on a beautiful tropical island. This could possibly be the home of Richard and Emmeline from the 1980’s Blue Lagoon movie.

The symbols on the reels are beautifully illustrated, and include; a Parrot holding a bank note, a Sword Fish, a Koi Fish, a Sting Ray, a Toucan, a Waterfall, a Hibiscus Flower, a Green and Red Flower and the Blue Lagoon Logo.

Betting Options

Like the majority of WMS’s Hot, Hot Penny feature game you have to play with the maximum amount of pay lines on each game. That is not all though, as it also charges you an additional forced wager of 10x your line bet. Don’t let this put you off too much though, as you can still play from just $0.30 per spin thanks to the games coin sizes being able to be changed between $0.01 and $5. The maximum amount of money you can spend per spin is $150.

Slot Features

The Blue Lagoon Logo is the games Wild symbol. This symbol can substitute the other symbols in the game, except for the Scattered Waterfall symbol.

Three or more of the Waterfall symbols in any position on the games reels, will reward you with 8 free spins on the game. However, thanks to the Hot, Hot Penny feature, you will be given the chance to boost the number of free spins you have on the game with an additional mini game. Before the free spins round starts, you will be taken to a separate screen where you will be able to turn over a selection of titles to win additional spins on the game. The number of picks you receive depends on how many Scatter symbols you triggered the feature with.

You are also able to re-trigger additional free spins during free play, by once again bringing up three or more of the Scattered Waterfall symbols on screen. Any winnings that you pick up during the free spins round will also be tripled.

WMS knows how disappointing it can be when you narrowly miss out on the games free spins round. This got them thinking, and they decided that if you get two Scatter symbols on screen, then they will give you a free re-spin with the two Scatter symbols held in position. This will give you an additional chance of triggering the free spins round.
